walking without touching the ground

I wake up every day with the same persistent concern: despite my best efforts, my ecological footprint remains painfully large. As a climate activist, I strive for a more sustainable world, yet I’m ensnared in a system that is set up to fail. Every option I choose is bad.

I use reusable bags, eat plant-based meals, and ride my bike and public transport instead of driving a car. My supposedly “green” decisions only result in reduced harm rather than none at all – very depressing. Consuming is the foundation of the Western world, breaking out from this loop seems unattainable.

The lack of openness is much more annoying. How can I determine whether the “eco-friendly” product I’m purchasing actually benefits the environment? Businesses disguise the true impact of their products for example with self declared “organic” labels, making everything challenging to properly evaluate. I’m always fighting to learn more, to go deeper, to ask more questions about everything, but it’s exhausting.

I am a climate protester because I think that change is possible, yet I suffer because it seems unattainable. In the end not small changes, but a revolution is gonna be the only resolution. I will not give up.
